As Scope 3 reporting requirements tighten under CSRD and equivalent frameworks globally, the ability to provide clients with verifiable, per-trip carbon data is shifting from a differentiator to a baseline expectation. How the integration works

IMPT connects to TMC booking environments through standard API or GDS pathways. When a corporate traveller books a hotel through the TMC's managed programme and the booking routes via IMPT, the platform automatically retires 1 tonne of UN-verified CO₂ on Ethereum mainnet against that booking ID. The retirement is permanent and non-double-countable — it cannot be resold or reallocated to another booking.

For the TMC's corporate client, this means every in-scope hotel booking generates a verifiable carbon record — not an estimate or an average, but a confirmed on-chain retirement tied to a specific stay. That record is exportable at the booking level, allowing the client's sustainability team to incorporate it directly into Scope 3 calculations without manual reconciliation.

Scope 3 data quality

Category 6 (business travel) is one of the most material Scope 3 categories for service-sector corporates, and hotel emissions within that category are notoriously difficult to measure accurately. IMPT's on-chain model provides a more robust data point than the emission-factor estimates most corporates currently use: each retirement is tied to a specific booking, a specific property, and a verified quantum of CO₂, making it audit-ready for external assurance processes.
